is that so much to ask for.
I know exactly what I want to do, but getting there....there really is no path.
I wrote this letter to any band members that were willing to read it. I was hoping for some sort of response, but none yet...and probably never. well I tried, and fail, and now I have almost no hope.
dear anyone willing to read this,
This has nothing to do with being a huge fan or how much I love y'all. This is a for real question that I need/ would really love an answer, or just advise, to.
ok, so here's the short background: I am a college freshman. I enjoy the music/entertainment industry even though i do not play an instrument or sing or officially act. I also enjoy dealing with money (not like in a greedy way or anything, but like accounting/ bookkeeping).
now here is the dilemma: I have no idea what I should major in. Accounting has a much higher rate of employment than marketing does (marketing is what I think I would do if I was to somehow go into the music/entertainment industry). but I would much rather be interacting with real people rather than fake business people.
Anyway, that's beside the point/ question i am trying to ask.
In today's world how probable is it to get a job as a music/ entertainment marketer? and if I ended up majoring in accounting, is it possible to become some type accountant/ bookkeeper/ record keeper/ whatever it is called for a band or something of the sort, like something in the music/ entertainment field?
Am I making any sense whatsoever? I sure hope so. This is just the tip of the iceberg (that's so cliche) of the issue going on in my head, but if you could help out that would be wonderful. I figured asking some one with first hand experience in the music would be a smart idea!
